How To Read The Smart Electric Meter
Keypad – Single Rate
- Look at the keypad and press the digit 9
- On the display, KWH will appear

Keypad – E7/Two Rate
E7 smart meters can be tricky to read. They don’t show separate reading for day and night. For that, you need to take the reading at and at night, separately. To take the meter reading on E7 meter, follow the following steps;
- Press 6 on the meter’s keypad
- Keep pressing 6 until R01 shows up on the screen
- Then, eight digits will show up on the screen and that’s the ready
- Note down the reading and if you don’t, don’t worry as the cycle will keep showing multiple readings
Two Buttons
- Press B or Display Select and the screen will light up
- Keep clicking the option four times until “Total Active Import” comes on the screen
- You need to note down the reading including all the decimal points
Three buttons
- There will be three buttons on the screen
- You don’t need to press any button as the screen will cycle through
- The zeros will show up and you might need to wait for the other numbers to show up
- You need to note down the reading including all the zeros and decimals
- In case of E7 meter, you need to forward the screen until number 201 shows up
