Introduction of Eid Ul Fitar (Meethi Eid / Choti Eid)

Prior to approaching the quotes and sms, we have a brief introduction about Eid Ul Fitar

Eid ul Fitar gets celebrated as Ramadan comes to an end, Muslims start the day by paying thanks to Allah Almighty for this joyful and happiest day by offering the Eid prayer. This is the day every Muslim celebrate with full of happiness. Muslims do fasting for complete one month of Ramadan, they use to spend the Ramadan time in reading and listening Quran and try to spend most of the time in doing Zikar e Khuda. Their days and nights pass in the remembrance of God. They fast the whole ay and do ibadat in the night, these activities teach them tolerance and prevalence and obedience so, at the end of Ramadan Kareem, Allah Almighty endow his blessings upon Muslims and give them the happiness of Eid UL Fitar as a reward of their patience and obedience. This is why the Eid UL Fitar is also known as the ‘Meethi Eid’

Eid-al-Fitr (Eid al-Fitr, Eid ul-Fitr, Id-Ul-Fitr, Eid) is the first day of the Islamic month of Shawwal. It marks the end of Ramadan, which is a month of fasting and prayer. Many Muslims attend communal prayers, listen to a khutba (sermon) and give zakat al-fitr (charity in the form of food) during Eid al-Fitr.

People take a start of this day by offering Eid Namaz. Men go to the masjid and some women offer the prayer at home and some go out in masajid or madrassas. Females prepare sweet dishes at home. After the Namaz, they all exchange good words and greetings by saying ‘Eid Mubarak’ and ‘Khair Mubarak’. They embrace each other, shake their hands and greet each other with love. Then they eat the ‘Sheer’ or ‘Kheer’. Children love this Eid as they get ‘Eidi’ and different gifts on this day. All Muslims dress well. The day gets to spend with friends and families.

Eid-ul-Fitr is the three day Muslims festival which marks the end of the month of Ramadan. Eid-ul-Fitr means “festival of breaking the fast”. Muslims all around the world will celebrate the three-day Eid-ul-Fitr festival very soon depending on the sighting of the moon. It is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal.
To Celebrate the End of Fasting: Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated at the end of Ramadan or we can say at the end of fasting.
Eid-ul-Fitr Begins on the Sight of New Moon: It begins when the new moon appears in the sky. Across the world, Eid-ul-Fitr starts at different times and even different days depending on geographical locations.
Preparations for Eid Morning: On Eid morning Muslims cleanse themselves and wear new clothes, use perfumes and then go for Eid prayer.
Eid Greetings: “Eid Mubarak” which means “Have a blessed Eid!” is pretty common Eid greetings of Muslims. Eid greeting also varies depending on the country and language. Other variations of Happy Eid are “Mutlu Bayramlar” in Turkish, “Selamat Lebaran” in Indonesia and “Barka da Sallah” in Hausa, a Nigerian language, and many others.
Eid Prayer: After getting dressed Muslims gather for Eid prayer in mosques or outdoor locations. After that People visit relatives, friends and sometimes graveyards to pray for their dead ones.
The Lesser Eid: Eid-ul-Fitr is also known as “the lesser Eid” because it is one of the two important celebrations in Muslims faith. “The Greater Eid” is Eid-al-Adha which celebrates the sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
Gifts and Visit to Family and Friends: Eid-ul-Fitr is a time of abundance, not just abundant food but Gifts are often given, especially to children. These gifts of money, accessories, flowers etc. are called “Eidi.” Other than this Muslims celebrate this festival with friends and family by visiting them.

Holy Quran Verses related to Eid Mubarak

As we all know that Eid is an Islamic event so definitely the Quran carries some Orders and responsibility for people (Muslims) regarding this celebration. There are orders of giving sadqah and khairaat. Allah Almighty has put the responsibility of rich people to go an embrace with the poor as well and to share this happiness with them. There are many other important things that Muslims are required to do on this. It is our strong belief that; whatever Allah grants us, ordered us, blessed us with, and ask us to do, perform or celebrate; nothing is beyond the Hikmat.

This is a very good thing to share positive things with others as well as this is another way of getting sawab. So have a look below on the verses of the Holy Quran that are true and pure indeed. Share the sayings of Allah Almighty with your friends and family.

Prayer: And your Lord said, “Call on Me, I will respond to you.” —The Holy Quran 40:60
Effort: A human being can have nothing but what he strives for. –The Holy Quran 53:39
The Basics: And they have been commanded no more than this: To worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular prayer; and to practice regular charity; and that is the Religion, Right and Straight.–The Holy Quran 98:5
Purpose: And I created not the jinn and mankind except that they should worship Me. –The Holy Quran 51:56
Mercy: Say: “My servants, you who have transgressed against yourselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Truly Allah forgives all wrong actions. He is the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.” –The Holy Quran 39:53
Only Allah: “It is You we worship, and You we ask for help.”–The Holy Quran 1:5
Love our Prophet (pbuh): Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O you who believe! Send you blessings on him, and salute him with all respect. –Holy Quran 33:56
Remembrance: “Remember your Lord morning and evening, deep in your heart with humility and with fear; and also in a low voice; do not be of those who are heedless.” –Holy Quran 7:205
Responsibility: “…Surely Allah does not change the conditions in which a people are in until they change that which is in themselves… (13:11).”
Patience: 3:186 says: You shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Book before you and from those who worship many gods. But if you persevere patiently and guard against evil then that will be a determining factor in all affairs
Remember to be Thankful: Therefore remember Me. I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and never show me ingratitude.–The Holy Quran 2:152If you give thanks, I will give you more…The Holy Quran 14:7
Use Your Reason: It is He Who has created you from dust; then from a sperm-drop; then from a leech-like clot; then does he get you out as a child; then lets you (grow and) reach your age of full strength; then lets you become old–though of you there are some who die before–and lets you reach a Term appointed; in order that you may use your reason.–The Holy Quran 40:67
Look at those with less: The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, “When one of you sees another who is superior to him in point of wealth and creation, let him look to him who is below him. That is more proper that you hold not in contempt the favor of God towards you” (recorded in Bukhari and Muslim).
Take your precautions: A man said to the Prophet, “Should I tie up the legs of my camel and then rely upon God, or should I leave it free, and then rely upon God to take care of it?” The Prophet said, “Tie up its legs, and then rely upon God.” (Tirmidthi)

Eid Mubarak Hadith

it cannot possible that the beloved Prophet Muhammad did not add anything relevant to this day of Eid. every Muslim want to share the sayings of his Prophet so with respect and honor we gathered a beautiful bunch of Hadith that is relevant with this day. The words of Prophet Muhammad are like pearls and the below-mentioned Hadiths are like the beautiful Chain embedded with precious words as pearls.

Hadith No: 1 Narrated/Authority of Abdullah bin Umar Umar bought a silk cloak from the market, took it to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Take it and adorn yourself with it during the Eid and when the delegations visit you." Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) replied, "This dress is for those who have no share (in the Hereafter)." After a long period Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) sent to Umar a cloak of silk brocade. Umar came to Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) with the cloak and said, "O Allah's Apostle! You said that this dress was for those who had no share (in the Hereafter); yet you have sent me this cloak." Allah's Apostle said to him, "Sell it and fulfill your needs by it."
Hadith No: 2 Narrated/Authority of Aisha Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) came to my house while two girls were singing beside me the songs of Buath (a story about the war between the two tribes of the Ansar, the Khazraj and the Aus, before Islam). The Prophet (p.b.u.h) lay down and turned his face to the other side. Then Abu Bakr came and spoke to me harshly saying, "Musical instruments of Satan near the Prophet (p.b.u.h)?" Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) turned his face towards him and said, "Leave them." When Abu Bakr became inattentive, I signalled to those girls to go out and they left. It was the day of Eid, and the Black people were playing with shields and spears; so either I requested the Prophet (p.b.u.h) or he asked me whether I would like to see the display. I replied in the affirmative. Then the Prophet (p.b.u.h) made me stand behind him and my cheek was touching his cheek and he was saying, "Carry on! O Bani Arfida," till I got tired. The Prophet (p.b.u.h) asked me, "Are you satisfied (Is that sufficient for you)?" I replied in the affirmative and he told me to leave.
Hadith No: 3 Narrated/Authority of Al-Bara I heard the Prophet (p.b.u.h) delivering a Khutba saying, "The first thing to be done on this day (first day of Eid ul Adha) is to pray; and after returning from the prayer we slaughter our sacrifices (in the name of Allah) and whoever does so, he acted according to our Sunna (traditions)."
Hadith No: 4 Narrated/Authority of Aisha Abu Bakr came to my house while two small Ansari girls were singing beside me the stories of the Ansar concerning the Day of Buath. And they were not singers. Abu Bakr said protestingly, "Musical instruments of Satan in the house of Allah's Apostle!" It happened on the Eid day and Allah's Apostle said, "O Abu Bakr! There is an Eid for every nation and this is our Eid."
Hadith No: 5 Narrated/Authority of Anas bin Malik Allah's Apostle never proceeded (for the prayer) on the Day of Eid-ul-Fitr unless he had eaten some dates. Anas also narrated: The Prophet used to eat odd number of dates.
Hadith No: 6 Narrated/Authority of Anas The Prophet said, "Whoever slaughtered (his sacrifice) before the Eid prayer, should slaughter again." A man stood up and said, "This is the day on which one has desire for meat," and he mentioned something about his neighbors. It seemed that the Prophet I believed him. Then the same man added, "I have a young she-goat which is dearer to me than the meat of two sheep." The Prophet permitted him to slaughter it as a sacrifice. I do not know whether that permission was valid only for him or for others as well.
Hadith No: 7 Narrated/Authority of Al-Bara bin Azib The Prophet delivered the Khutba after offering the prayer on the Day of Nahr and said, "Whoever offers the prayer like us and slaughters like us then his Nusuk (sacrifice) will be accepted by Allah. And whoever slaughters his sacrifice before the Eid prayer then he has not done the sacrifice." Abi Burda bin Niyar, the uncle of Al-Bara' said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have slaughtered my sheep before the Eid prayer and I thought today as a day of eating and drinking (not alcoholic drinks), and I liked that my sheep should be the first to be slaughtered in my house. So slaughtered my sheep and took my food before coming for the prayer." The Prophet said, "The sheep which you have slaughtered is just mutton (not a Nusuk)." He (Abu Burda) said, "O Allah's Apostle! I have a young she-goat which is dearer to me than two sheep. Will that be sufficient as a Nusuk on my behalf? "The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Yes, it will be sufficient for you but it will not be sufficient (as a Nusuk) for anyone else after you."
Hadith No: 8 Narrated/Authority of Abu Said Al-Khudri The Prophet used to proceed to the Musalla on the days of Eid-ul-Fitr and Id-ul-Adha; the first thing to begin with was the prayer and after that he would stand in front of the people and the people would keep sitting in their rows. Then he would preach to them, advise them and give them orders, (i.e. Khutba). And after that if he wished to send an army for an expedition, he would do so; or if he wanted to give and order, he would do so, and then depart. The people followed this tradition till I went out with Marwan, the Governor of Medina, for the prayer of Eid-ul-Adha or Eid-ul-Fitr. When we reached the Musalla, there was a pulpit made by Kathir bin As-Salt. Marwan wanted to get up on that pulpit before the prayer. I got hold of his clothes but he pulled them and ascended the pulpit and delivered the Khutba before the prayer. I said to him, "By Allah, you have changed (the Prophet's tradition)." He replied, "O Abu Said! Gone is that which you know." I said, "By Allah! What I know is better than what I do not know." Marwan said, "People do not sit to listen to our Khutba after the prayer, so I delivered the Khutba before the prayer."
Hadith No: 9 Narrated/Authority of Abdullah bin Umar Allah's Apostle used to offer the prayer of Eid-ul-Adha and Eid-ul-Fitr and then deliver the Khutba after the prayer.
Hadith No: 10 Narrated/Authority of Ibn Juraij Ata said, "Jabir bin Abdullah said, 'The Prophet went out on the Day of Eid-ul-Fitr and offered the prayer before delivering the Khutba, Ata told me that during the early days of Ibn Az-Zubair, Ibn Abbas had sent a message to him telling him that the Adhan for the Eid Prayer was never pronounced (in the life time of Allah's Apostle) and the Khutba used to be delivered after the prayer. Ata told me that Ibn Abbas and Jabir bin Abdullah, had said, ?? where was no Adhan for the prayer of Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Aqha." Ata said, "I heard Jabir bin Abdullah saying, 'The Prophet stood up and started with the prayer, and after it he delivered the Khutba. When the Prophet of Allah (p.b.u.h) finished (the Khutba), he went to the women and preached to them, while he was leaning on Bilal's hand. Bilal was spreading his garment and the ladies were putting alms in it.' " I said to Ata, "Do you think it incumbent upon an Imam to go to the women and preach to them after finishing the prayer and Khutba?" Ata said, "No doubt it is incumbent on Imams to do so, and why should they not do so?"
